Brood rearing efficiency of Apis cerana was studied in terms of egg laying rate. The Maximum brood survival rate was observed at Coimbatore (T.N) as compared to Srinagar (J&K) ,The brood survival rate in August 2012, ranges between 46.22-102.47 per cent with average of 75.01±9.18, in March 2013, 56.94 -72.66 percent with an average of 62.96±7.23, and in August2013, 46.51 -100 per cent with an average of 67.37±8.26, ,At Srinagar (J&K) , the brood survival rate in August 2011, ranges between 39.19 -98.02 with an average of 70.29±7.03, in March2012, 55.10-77.48 with an average of 59.79±6.58 and in august 2013, 81.66-90.78 with an average of 84.77±1.95. Brood survival rate is negatively correlated with high temperature and humidity and positively correlated with pollen availability.
